Big Brothers Big Sisters The one to one program serves boys and girls ages 6-18. Volunteers are screened adults age 18 and over. The program runs year-round. Children are primarily from single parent families and in need of a special friend. Volunteers are teenagers ages 14 to 18. Matches meet one day a week year around. Children have to be referred by a guidance counselor/teacher. All you give is one hour a week for one school year (Aug-May) For busy working adults, take your lunch hour to spend at a school near your office. For a college student you can mentor in between classes. Participants are first time parents between the ages of 11 and 25. Volunteers are any adults that have experienced parenthood.
